The first thing that strikes you when extracting the Midori stationery from its packaging for the first time is the exposed spine of the notebook. The spine of the notebook is left exposed by Midori, which gives it a minimalist and slightly unfinished look. You'll hardly notice it once you get used to it, but it can be a little unusual at first.
